Dear prince,

You live in a glass incubator.

You have everything you need.

Your bed gets made for you,

You get fed,

You get changed,

You get repositioned,

You get your face cleaned,

You get your mouth suctioned,

You get medication administered,

You get assisted with your breathing,

You get your little world warmed,

Your every move is seen,

Your every breath is monitored,

Your fight is being closely watched.

Beyond your little world encased in glass,

Your mommy watches you for hours,

Makes sure you’re comfortable,

Worries about your pain,

Smiles at your different movements,

Prays for you all day,

Hopes for the very best for you.

She wants to hold you tight,

To tell you everything will be okay,

To hold your little hand and take away your pain,

She wants to kiss your gorgeous tiny face,

Snuggle you so close to her heart,

Sing to you as long as she could..

But that glass little world of yours separates hers and yours
